ADB: Sunday crash tarnishes low-cost airlines' image

Asian Development Bank's country director, Thai Resident Mission, Jean-Pierre Verbiest admitted on Monday that One-Two-Go's air crash in Phuket could have tarnished the image of low-cost airlines.

However, he was quoted by Thai News Agency as saying that it should have limited effect on Thailand's tourism industry or the economic conditions.

Accidents can happen and so far low-cost airlines have honoured strict safety regulations. Moreover, the accident happened only at Phuket International Airport, having bad weather conditions involved, he noted.
