The art-and-music party was part of a Tiger beer's initiative to give emerging Asian artists a global stage and team up with foreign creative types.
With the motto "Bring Asian Passion to the World", Tiger Translate last year showed multidisciplinary artwork from Asia to audiences in New York, Dublin, Auckland and Shanghai.
At the Astra, four of the Underground pub's bands that won the first round of Tiger Translate Thailand were invited to perform.
The renowned Momoko Motion was also onstage. Split from Futon to go solo, the spicy girl was dressed in a freaky pink-elephant outfit as she let her emotionally expressive voice go wild.
Next up, Cyndi Seui, along with
Po Yokee Playboy & Friends, had the overcrowded club jumping. At the forefront of Thailand's electronic-music scene, singer, producer and remixer Cyndi once again amazed the audience.
He's back again with his second album, "My Name is Dos", taking influences from jazz, folk, French electro, '60s vinyl pop and Motown.
Dude Sweet got some terrific support from architect and lighting designer Jiro Endo. Having collaborated with Cornelius, Keane and Moderndog, Endo delivers extravagance with coy sophistication.
For Tiger Translate he made an Ikebana flower arrangement with an "enlightening" twist. As is coming from outer space, his diverse, atmospheric blinking illuminations were synchronised to the beat of the shaking electro DJ sets of Reuben Wu from Ladytron in Liverpool.
Other artists such as Muse, Duck Unit, Bored, Happy Gen and Suki will be contributing their talents to the party road show as it rolls on to Chiang Mai, Phuket and Nakhon Ratchasima.
