Instead of just being for the sake of art, Tunick's new collection has an environmental message. On August 18, hundreds of naked people posed in front of the Aletsch glacier for a photo session with Tunick, near Bettmeralp, Switzerland.
The environmental group Greenpeace commissioned Tunick to take pictures of nude volunteers on a Swiss glacier to call attention to the issue of global warming and its impact on glaciers.
The campaign organised by Greenpeace is aimed at drawing attention to melting Alpine glaciers, which Greenpeace says is a clear sign of global warming and man-made climate change.
Eco-design
Thai designer-architect Singh Intrachooto turns wastes from construction sites and factories, such as wood chips, shredded paper, plastic bags, juice boxes or computer parts into his innovative Osisu furniture line.
His eco-friendly contemporary handcrafted furniture look likes a sculpture, at first glance. But open it, sit on it or even sleep on it, and you'll find its perfect function. Integrating local craftsman and skilled carpentry with contemporary aesthetics, the designs include shopping bags made of shredded paper, cabinets made from computer parts to chairs made of wood chips.
