SET closes up 0.6%

The Thai stock market ended 0.6 per cent higher, propelled by the comtinuing buying spree in heavy weighted energy stocks after oil prices hit the new record high overnight.



The SET index started the day with a gain. It rose to the intraday's high at 816.82 before weakened to close the day at 811.95. Turnover was thin at Bt15.45 billion.

 PTT Plc (PTT) surged 1.25 per cent at Bt324, Thai Oil Plc (TOP) was unchanged at Bt79, Rayong Refinery Plc (RRC) edged up 1.28 per cent at Bt23.70, PTT Exploration and Production plc (PTTEP) was up 0.79 per cent at Bt128, and Banpu  Plc (BANPU) fell 0.67 per cent at Bt296.
