GHB predicts an upward trend of interest rates

Government Housing Bank (GBH)'s president Khan Prachuabmoh said on Tuesday that domestic interest rates tend to increase after liquidity absorption of Thai central bank. At the meantime, the inflation is expected an upward trend.



However, he said the amount of non-performing loans in August fell to 5.1 per cent from 5.9 per cent in July after establishing a special debt monitoring commitee. 

GHB targets its outstanding housing loans to reach Bt95 billion by the end of this year as its current new loans as of Septmber 7 were Bt67 billion. New housing loans as of August were Bt8.9 billion.
