The  state-owned think-tank has proposed that capital spending by 60 state enterprises should be Bt289.76 billion, or 3.2 per cent of gross domestic product, according to a document obtained by The Nation.

The enterprises would be ready to spend Bt216.67 billion in the next fiscal year, which starts next month for some state enterprises and in January for others.

However, they would need to seek further Cabinet approval for projects worth Bt73.08 billion.

These include new projects worth Bt31.84 billion and projects worth Bt41.24 billion that have not been undertaken in this fiscal year.

The state enterprises' disbursement target is 90 per cent of planned investment, according to the proposal.
