Deposit Insurance Agency not to start soon : MOF
Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn said on Friday that the Deposit Insurance Agency will not take effect soon as concerned by some.
Chalongphob said the government would like the economy and financial institutions to turn to normal condition before starting the DIA.
He said the National Legislative Assembly will decide when to start the agency.
"There are several people worrying about the impact of the DIA," he said.
Earlier, the central bank said the DIA can be established within six months after the NLA's approval. - The Nation
