Mandarin price up despite fire

Mandarin Hotel Plc experienced a 30 satang hike in share price as the market closed on Wednesday, despite fires that damaged one of its hotel properties.

The company, of which trading was halted in the morning and restarted in the afternoon session, ended the day at Bt24.90.

The company informed the Stock Exchange of Thailand that it has 2 hotel buildings, which are Mandarin building and Princess

building. The area that has been affected by fire is the storage and fitness room, which is the crossway of two buildings, and left wing of the Princess building. The Princess building has 14 floors and 216 rooms.

The damage cost cannot be concluded.

However, the property is insured by Bangkok Insurance Plc for Bt500 million.

The company to date cannot set the date when to resume the hotel operation but said it would reopen the property as soon as possible.
