A suspect, who owns one of the shops, said she had no idea the shirts she had bought from a factory were produced without permission from the Phu Fa shop, which sells
royally approved products.
The Phu Fa shop deputy manager, Tharisa Ketuthat warned against copyright infringement of such products. She said the commercial use of drawings or art work by members of the royal family without permission was also against the law, despite the goodwill by unwitting violators.
The drawing by Her Royal Highness depicts a blue cartoon elephant presenting a heart with its trunk, with her signature underneath.
She drew it for His Majesty the King as his birthday gift, on December 5, in 1982.
