Two crew members were killed.

The Swiss-made Pilatus PC-9, a single-engine, turboprop craft, caught fire when trying to land. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

An eyewitness said the plane's engine stopped in mid-air while descending to land. A probe into the crash is underway.

The deceased crew members were flight instructor Wing Commander Suphat Wangbutr and student Flight Officer Worraphong Mongdee.
