About 6,000 silk ties have been produced to commemorate the auspicious occasion of His Majesty the King's 80th birthday this December.

VIP, the organisers of special soccer tournaments among ministries and organisations, has launched the products in three colours: yellow, which signifies His Majesty's birthday on a Monday; pink, the colour for Tuesday, the King's birthday according to Thai astrology; and blue with pink stripes. Blue represents the King's colour and pink indicates good health.

The neckties are available at Bt2,000 apiece. Part of the proceeds will go to His Majesty the King's foundations and to flood victims.
