Chat Pattana withdraws from party registration

A son of former Chat Pattana Party deputy leader withdrew the application to register the party on, an Election Commission (EC) source said Wednesday.

Piyawat Limpapan, a son of Prapas Limpapan asked the EC on Monday to withdraw the party registration citing "unreadiness" as a reason.

After former Chat Pattana Party leader Suwat Liptapanlop merged with the Thai Rak Thai Party in 2005, former party members had requested the EC to register the party again.

The source said the EC decided to dissolve the party on June 28, 2005, after the party failed to find enough members and establish branches within the 180 day deadline required by the law.
