TOT board spokesman rebuts union's demand
Djit Laowattana, spokesman of TOT Plc's board of directors, said on Friday morning that the pressure for TOT board resignation came from the labour union's acting chief, not the entire union members.
In Modernine TV, he said there was an investigation into the letter and several employees questioned on the matter said the demand came from Nukul Bovornsirikul, acting chief of the labour union. He said the demand could not be taken as the union's consensus as the union has never held a meeting on this issue.
Djit also said that Pornchai Meemak, chief of TOT's progress group, is prepared to talk to TOT employees at the canteen later today on problems that are beleaguering the telecom agency.
On Thursday, it was reported that the union demanded the entire board of directors to resign within 7 days, or staff, in black dress, would block their entry into TOT building. The union reportedly claimed that this board caused internal conflicts and was responsible for a sharp drop in TOT net profits.
