EGCO expects to win IPPs

Egco Group is confident that it will win the bidding for an independent power plant (IPP) of not less than 800 megawatts.

The upcoming bidding for IPPs totaling 3,200 megawatts is now available for applying and expected to announce the winners in November.

The group's president Visit Akaravinak said on Tuesday that the company has experience in operating IPP for years though 60 bidding documents were already sold.

He said Egco posted Bt5.03 billion in net profit in the first half of this year, up 38 per cent from the same period last year.
