DSI to seek warrants for ex PM
The Department of Special Investigation (DSI) yesterday decided to ask the Criminal Court to sanction arrest warrants for former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his wife Khunying Pojaman.

The warrants, expected to take effect next week, will force Thaksin and Pojaman to acknowledge the stock market violations they allegedly carried out by covering up their equity stakes in SC Asset Corporation, a listed property development company.
The statue of limitations to execute the warrants is 10 years.
"DSI deems it necessary to get the warrants and its action should not be politicised because the alleged violations are about the Securities and Exchange Act and not politics," DSI director-general Sunai Manomai-udom said.
The issue of warrants is a step in the legal process, though it remains unclear how long it would take to bring the two back from London, he said.
