Managing director Piya Chongvatana said a team had been established to sell factory equipment such as pressure vessels, storage tanks and heat exchangers. For this purpose, Patkol has manufacturing plants at Bang Phli and Ratchaburi.

So far, the business has contributed 3 per cent of the company's revenue. "We aim to increase the proportion to 20-30 per cent," he said, adding the company had secured 25 clients including IRPC, Bayer (Thai) and Thai Plastic and Chemicals.

Net profit in the first quarter was Bt22.54 million on revenue of Bt1.15 billion. However, in the first six months, net profit was only Bt14 million on turnover of Bt2 billion.

Piya admitted the company had missed its second-quarter earnings target, attributing the poor performance to the political instability which had discouraged new investment by clients. - The Nation
