Police seek to re-detain of anti-coup leaders

Police filed additional evidence on Wednesday, claiming that four anti-coup protest leaders have violated their bail conditions and asked the Criminal Court to put them on remand along with two other leaders who had been released on August 6.

The court is scheduled tomorrow to rule on whether to resume custody of the six members of the Democratic Alliance Against Dictatorship.

The six are Veera Musigapong, Jatuporn Phromphan, Jakrapob Penkair, Natthawut Saikua, Wiputalaeng Patanapumithai and Apiwan Wiriyachai.

Police contend that the six have started making speeches designed to cause social divisions.

According to the evidence, Veera, Jatuporn, Jakrapob and Natthawut started joining rallies at Sanam Luang from Tuesday.
