Tevez finally completes United switch

London - The summer's longest running transfer saga finally came to an end on Friday as Carlos Tevez completed his move to Manchester United.

The 23-year-old could conceivably make his United debut against Reading Sunday, but it is more likely that manager Sir Alex Ferguson will wait until the derby against Manchester City the following week to blood him.

Tevez's registration with West Ham was cancelled earlier this week, but the full details of his initial two-year loan have been rigorously analysed to avoid any suggestion of third-party ownership.

"Carlos has surprised us," Ferguson said. "We thought he would need more training but he looks in great shape."
