At the same time the company will reduce its management role in its event-organisation business in Dubai and let local partners fully manage the operation.
Executive vice president Kriengkarn Kanjanapokin yesterday said Index was studying the business potential of three new businesses with potential partners. All three would have local partners, and each would need investment of about Bt200 million.
Index Event Agency has eight subsidiaries, including the recently formed Inspire Image, to service ambient media, and 3-RD, which is an integrated marketing-communications agency.
He said Index's main business as event organiser and marketing-strategy and campaign planner had already settled down and was growing. The company therefore considers itself ready to try other high-potential businesses.
Although Index has reduced its role in Dubai, Kriengkarn said it would keep its stake in the local operation. However, it still expects to expand abroad. The firm is studying a potential business in Vietnam.
Index generated Bt416 million in revenues during the first seven months of the year, of which 15 per cent was contributed by organisations in the public sector.
Kriengkarn said revenues from the public sector should increase during the rest of the year. He expects at least a further Bt50 million in income from the sector.
As to the state of the advertising industry, Kriengkarn is confident it will pick up with the expected general election late this year. Television, radio and print media will generate high revenues for advertising the campaigns of political parties.
