Commerce Ministry permanent secretary Karun Kittisataporn yesterday said the rectifying process of the Act's amendment by the NLA was already completed. The NLA will vote on whether to accept the draft Act tomorrow.
The government is very confident the NLA the will pass the amended Act. It will be sent to His Majesty the King for his acknowledgement and should be enacted within the next few months, Karun said.
If the NLA does not accept the amended Act, then the government must allow the opposition to rectify the draft.
Karun said most NLA members should agree with the draft's amendment, even though some members disagreed with details of the Act.
A few members said the government should extend its control over business management, while the government believes that would prove too stringent and difficult.
