Zigic about to leave Santander for Valencia

Madrid - Nicola Zigic is about to sign for Spanish giants Valencia, according to the digital version of AS on Monday.

AS claims that the gigantic Serbian striker is keen to stay in "La Liga" instead of signing for an English, Italian or German club.

Racing Santander president Francisco Pernia is asking for 20 million euros (27.56 million dollars) for Zigic.

Valencia are not prepared to pay quite so much, and hope to bring the price down by loaning out young striker Juan Mata to Santander.

In other Santander news Monday, Pernia's club presented midfielder Jordi Lopez to the media. Lopez has been loaned to Santander by Mallorca for one season.
