Court approves arrest warrant against protest leader

The Dusit District Court Sunday approved an arrest warrant against a protest leader after he failed to meet police investigators.

The court considered that Suchart Nakbangsai, a leader of the Saturday People Against Dictatorship, had clear intention to escape so the court approved the warrant against him.

Police investigators said Suchart climbed over the fence into the compound of the residence of Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanond in the night of July 22 when anti-coup protesters staged a riot outside his house.
