Australian tot signs for Manchester United

Sydney - An Australian 9-year-old has signed with Manchester United on the strength of a film of him playing for his Brisbane tiny tots' team, news reports said Thursday.

Scouts from the world's most famous football club say Rhain Davis could even be the next Beckham, Rooney or Ronaldo.

"This lad has simply phenomenal talent," an unnamed source told Britain's The Sun newspaper. "He has created a huge buzz and people are raving about him all over the world."

Nearly 3 million people are said to have watched the lad showing off his soccer prowess on internet site YouTube.

Davis told Brisbane's Courier Mail newspaper that he had got to meet Rooney and other Manchester United stars.

"Being here has been brilliant," he was quoted as saying.

The Manchester United academy will decide whether to offer Davis a full-time scholarship when he's 12.
