Al Gore's plan to visit Bangkok cancelled

Former US vice president Al Gore had planned to visit Bangkok on August 8 and give a dinner speech on global warming, but he has cancelled the trip because of his tight schedule, said the event organiser.

Vachara Phanchet, vice president of event organiser Pacific Basin Economic Council (PBEC), said Gore had confirmed his plan to visit Bangkok to give a speech on global warming before 300 executives before he cancelled the trip.

Vachara said that he will hold an official press conference next week to clarify to the media Gore's planned trip to Bangkok.
