One million yen falls from Tokyo sky

Tokyo - Police are looking for the owner of nearly 1 million yen (282,000)(that fell from the sky Thursday in Tokyo, local media reported.



A 26-year-old convenience store clerk gathered some of the 10,000-yen bills as they fell from the sky, and a store manager reported the falling money to police, Jiji Press said.

The clerks gathered 91 of the bills that landed on the ground, and the police who rushed to the scene found five others stuck on a store awning.

The cash is being held as a lost-and-found item at the local police station until someone claims it.

The convenience store is located on the ground floor of a condominium.
