Prayad v Thammanoon

[HEAD TO HEAD] Two of Thailand's most prolific winners, Prayad Marksaeng and Thammanoon Srirot are against each other in a series of light-hearted questions.

See what they have to say about their warm-up routine, their fears on the golf course and what they will do when faced with a 10-foot putt on the last hole to win a golf tournament on the Asian Tour

How do you warm up?

Prayad: It'll start in the hotel where I'll do some exercises. At the range, I'll grab two clubs to swing freely to loosen up and then hit all my wedges in the bag, just five balls for each club. I'll then go up to my nine iron to five wood and driver. I'll then hit 10 putts on the green and practice 10 chip shots.

Thammanoon: I'lll start with my sandwedge, pitching wedge and work my way up to a seven iron, four iron, three wood and driver. I won't practice with all my clubs as the idea is to get loose and be relaxed.

What do you do after completing a round?

Prayad: I'll normally chip and putt and then go back to the range for about 40 minutes hitting golf balls.

Thammanoon: I'll have something to eat and then hit the range for an hour or two.

It takes 45 minutes to get from hotel to golf course. How do you kill the time in the bus?

Prayad: I'll normally be in dream land.

Thammmanoon: Sleep! Just try to keep my mind calm before a round.

What's the worst thing that you fear when you are playing?

Prayad: Strong winds and cold!

Thammanoon: I'm always scared of my driver.

You've just shot a 63. What will you do after the round?

Prayad: I'll stick to my normal routine … go back to the range and hit some balls.

Thammanoon: Same routine, which is eat first and then more practice.

How about after a round of 80?

Prayad: If that was a result of me swinging the club poorly and not having a good feel during the day, then I'll go straight back home.

Thammanoon: I'll be looking to leave the club straight away as I'll be pretty mad.

You have two putts from 10 feet for par to win a title. Do you go for glory with a birdie?

Prayad: I'll be focusing on keeping my rhythm during my putting stroke.

Thammanoon: I'll play it safe and try to lag it to the hole.

After posting a triple bogey, what are your thoughts at the next tee?

Prayad: Hopefully, the next hole will be a par five so that I'll have the chance to attack the hole for a birdie or eagle.

Thammanoon: Try to forget about the score. It's tough to block out things like that.

There's water on the right and OB on the left. How do you approach this next tee shot to a par four 480 yard hole and being in position for a top-five finish?

Prayad: If there is no wind blowing, I'll opt for my three hit and hit the fairway.

Thammanoon: I'll aim towards the water and try to bring the ball back onto the fairway. If you find water, you still have a chance for par unlike hitting it into OB.

Will you speak to your playing partners if you're in contention on the back nine on Sunday?

Prayad: I'm never serious whenever I'm playing golf. I like to talk to my playing partners or caddie.

Thammanoon: I'm very easy going, so I like to talk when I'm playing. You can't be too serious in this game.

If you are drawn to play with Tiger Woods, how do you think you'll react playing with him?

Prayad: I don't think I'll feel any pressure. It will be nice for that to happen as the experience will be useful.

Thammanoon: Maybe, I'll be nervous for the first couple of holes.

You're playing in a pro-am and one of your amateurs can't hit the ball. What will you do?

Prayad: I will teach him some basics like the stance and grip. But I certainly won't teach him everything because I might lose my own swing!

Thammanoon: I'll try to teach him a few things but mainly to enjoy the game.
