Louis Vuitton Advertising Campaign Fall/Winter 2007-2008

Marc Jacobs, artistic director comments, "Our aim with this new campaign was to depict the Louis Vuiton in an entirely fresh way, moving on from the coquettish spirit of Spring/ Summer to capture the rich, womanly mood of the Fall/ Winter collection."

Accordingly, Louis Vuitton's advertising campaign for Fall/Winter 2007-2008 stars American actress Scalett Johansson as the quintessential "femme fatale," whose platinum blonde hair and languorous poses recall Fifties' Hollywood screen sirens. The visuals, shot in a Los Angeles studio by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, employ heavy silk curtains in deep colours as a striking backdrop, which not only complements the painterly shades and textures of the season's clothes - a mustard silk blouse, an orange waxed rabbit fur coat, a royal blue satin cocktail dress trimmed with ostrich feathers - but is also subtly reminiscent of the rich draperies seen in the 17th century Dutch portraits which inspired the ready-to-wear collection.

In keeping with the title of the collection "Girl with the Monogram handbag" the campaign also spotlights the season's stand-out variations on the iconic pattern, as well as key accessories, including neo-ethnic feathered or chunky metal bracelets and cylinder heeled pumps and ankle boots in glossy black, red or powder pink leather.

The advertising campaign breaks in the August 2007 issues of magazines worldwide.
