Thai squad named

National team coach Chanvit Pholchivin has included young strikers Teeratep "Leesaw" Winothai and Teerasil Daengda in his final 23-man squad for the upcoming Asian Cup.

They have been promoted from the Pre-Olympic squad following impressive performances, particularly from Leesaw, who has been in a rich vein of scoring form.

There was also a place for veteran striker Kiartisak "Zico" Senamuang, whose physical condition had been a doubt, after the 33-year-old managed to convince Chanvit that he was fit for the quadrennial tournament.

Four foreign-based players - Binh Dinh's Nirut Surasiang, Hoang Anh Gia Lai's Datsakorn Thonglao, Singapore Armed Forces' Terdsak Jaiman and Tampines' Sutee Suksomkit - also feature in a squad that is a mixture of experience and youth.

Sarayoot Chaikamdee, who plies his trade with V-League outfit Binh Dinh, is among five players axed from the squad.
