In it, I discovered the earliest proof that Siam was also known in the West as the Golden Land (aurea regio). Arranged chronologically, the worl details all known printed maps of the world from 1472 to 1700. Each entry is illustrated, discussed in detail, with information about the cartographers and publishers and includes raious appendices such as the rarity index. Inspired by the author's meticulous research, I'm now embarking on an ambitious project to comprehensively detail every known printed map of Siam."
