"Every two minutes, there's a new blog being posted," OK Nation Blog editor Charlee Waradee said. He added that there were about 22,000 unique IP-address readers a day.
"Our strong points are that we allow people to freely express their opinions. This is a democratic forum where comments are mature in nature. This is quite rare in Thai political websites," Charlee said.
"Our content is also diverse and covers politics, society, tourism, entertainment and sports. Our bloggers come from all walks of life. They make this website a trove of online knowledge."
Charlee also took pride in the fact that OK Nation Blog embraced the "citizen journalism" concept through which people can report incidents they have seen.
"Citizen journalism has taken the United States, United Kingdom and South Korea by storm," he said.
Chutintra Wattanakul, director of Nation Multimedia Group's new media division, said to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the 1997 economic crisis, bloggers were invited to write about their post-crisis lives and what they believed would help to avoid another crisis.
"Stories posted this month will have a chance to win prizes. OK Nation members will help select which stories should get prizes," she said.
The www.oknation.net site will soon have Blog Talk and video-sharing features.
