In brief :Pisanu on pole in Udon Thani
Pisanu Sirimongkolka-sem secured the pole position of the Toyota Vios One Make Race after completing the 1.5-km qualifying lap in 59.568 secs at the Nong Prachak Public Park in Udon Thani yesterday.
Pisanu, who finished in 23rd place in the opening race in Chiang Mai last month, will start ahead of Sakarin Tasanawiriyakul (59.643), and Navabhan Yugala is the third driver (59.716). Starting in fourth position is Vitawas Chinbaramee (1.00.596), while in fifth position is Rattavisit Srivichai (1.00.729). There are 30 cars in the race, which is the second of a five-leg series to be competed this year.
Thais fall Thai girls went down to Rahat of Kazakhstan 1-3 (22-25 23-25 25-20 11-25) in the round-robin match of the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship at the Sport Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday. The Thai team, playing under the Sangsom banner, were to play against Uzbekistan's Skif and Indonesia's Garuda respectively yesterday.
