1.30pm : A Tribunal judge starts reading the verdict for Democrrat Party. He says the reading will take long time so attendants in the court room are allowed to sit while the verdict is read.
1.15pm Former Democrat Mps, staffs and supporters start gathering in front of a big screen television at the party headquarter to wait for the Tribunal's reading of verdict to start.
1pm : Live broadcast from the Tribunal shows senior Democrat members, including Chuan and Abhisit sitting in a court room waiting for the verdict.
12.25am : Democrat team arrive at the Tribunal office.
12.05am : Democrat team led by party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva and party advisor Chuan Leekpai leave the party headquarter to the Constitutional Tribunal office. Accompanying them are other party executives; Apirak Kosayothin and party secretary general Suthep Thueksubhan.
10.20am: Secretary General Suthep Thueksubhan says Party advisor Chuan Leekpai is suitable to be new party leader if in worst case scenario that the party is dissolved.
Many people still support and want to see Chuan, a former prime minister, to take the seat if the Constitutional Tribunal ruled to dissolve the party.
However he says it is up to Chuan whether to accept it or not.
8am: Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva arrives at his party head office. He tells reporters that he slept well Tuesday night. He expresses confidence the Democrat name will remain no matter how the ruling against his party will come out.

5:20 pm : After listening to a verdict on the Democrat Party case for almost three hours, key TRT members and their supporters are reportedly getting bored with the long session. Thus, some canvassers step on the stage to start attacking the junta while praising former premier Thaksin Shinawatra for his great service for the nation.
3:50 pm : More people are coming to the Thai Rak Thai headquarter to show their support while the tribunal is reading the verdict of the Democrat Party case. The verdict on the TRT case will follow the Democrats'.
12.30pm : TRT says it will hold a press conference at 5pm after the Tribunal finishes reading verdict against it.
12.20 Thai Rak Thai acting leader Chaturon Chaisang, former executives Pongthep Thepkanchana, Chamlong Krutkhuntod and former MP Wichit Plangsrisakul arrived at the Office of the Constitution Court.
11:10 am: Key TRT members Sutham Saengprathoom and Adisorn Piengket begin the stage proceedings at the party headquarter. They attack the junta for staging the coup of September 19, 2006. They say the cases of party dissolution are illegitimate because they belong to the 1997 Constitution, which was cancelled by the coup. They want the junta to step down and return democracy to the people.
10.50 am: About 100 supporters gather at the Thai Rak Thai headquarter on Rama III Road. Police close one traffic lane in front of the building, causing a slow traffic trailing to Krungthep Bridge.
All vehicles entering the building are checked amid tight security. Two widescreen TV monitors are installed in front of the building.
Chaturon is still at the party headquarter on Rama III Road. He insisted the party supporters will not cause trouble no matter the verdicts will be.
10.15am : Some TRT supporters arrive at the party office. When they shake hands with Jaturon. A woman gives an amulet to him and encourages him that the party will not be dissolved.
10am: Party leader Jaturon Chaisaeng arrives at the party headquarter on Rama III Road.
9am: Leading members start arriving at the party head office. They include Sutham Saengprathoom and Wichit Plungsrikul.
Former MP Thirachai Saenkaew is seen wearing Jatukham talisman to the party head office.
8am: Thai Rak Thai leader Chaturon Chaisang has not arrived at the party head office yet.
6am: Reporters arrive at the party head office to make prepartions for covering the event.
The party sets up a stage in front its head office. The stage uses a red backdrop with wording printed as: "To fight on for the people with democratic ideology of Thai Rak Thai". |
