No blacklists of cabinet members : defence minister

Defence Minister Gen Boonrawd Somtas denied on Wednesday reports that the Council for National Security had blacklisted three Cabinet members who remained in "neutral gear" by not taking any action to solve the country's problems.
Rumours about the Cabinet spread after the resignation of former PM's Office minister Prasit Kowilaikul. It was suggested he had quit because of dissatisfaction with some ministers.Other rumours had the junta submitting a list of three Cabinet members for Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont to consider sacking because of their poor performance. Boonrawd dismissed the rumours, saying the junta did not interfere in the government's work. "It's not true. The CNS has not blacklisted anyone," Boonrawd said. He said the CNS had never told Surayud that certain Cabinet members were unsatisfactory. He said Surayud had also not reprimanded any Cabinet member. A cabinet reshuffle was for the prime minister to decide. Boonrawd said Prasit was under pressure as he had to look after bills and cooperate with the National Legislative Assembly. Prasit had never said he was disappointed with the government or the NLA, even though they did not operate like a team, Boonrawd said.
