Kowit's plea is rejected

The Central Administrative Court yesterday dismissed a plaint by former police chief Kowit Watana over his transfer to a civilian post, saying it could not look into his case until an ongoing internal process is concluded.

Justice Adul Jantharasak said a Police Commission subcommittee had not yet reached its decision. "The plaintiff still has his right to appeal against the court ruling dismissing his plea within 30 days or after the subcommittee reaches its decision," he said.

Kowit said he had been unlawfully transferred out of the Royal Thai Police to serve in a C-11 civilian post as the chief adviser on internal security to the government by Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont, because the order lacked mandatory mutual consent.

Kowit last week lodged a plaint with the Central Administrative Court seeking an injunction against Surayud's order. But the court later dismissed his plaint for a similar reason.
