Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, her brother and her secretary will appear before the Criminal Court on Monday to give their opening statement in a tax-evasion case against them, her lawyer said yesterday.

The court accepted the case in late March. The lawyer said yesterday that the defence had listed several witnesses to testify in the case. Kanchanapa yesterday met members of the Assets Examination Committee (AEC) to testify about a separate case regarding the sale of Shin Corp shares involving Thaksin and Pojaman's children Panthongtae and Pinthongta. She left at about 5.30pm after seven hours of questioning. Kanchanapa declined to discuss the details of her testimony and the AEC spokesman Sak Korsaengruang said the details could not be disclosed at this time.
