[WEIGHTLIFTING] Thailand's Annipa Moontar won three more silver medals in the women's over-75kg division in the 19th Asian Women's Championships, which concluded in China yesterday.
Annipa, the bronze medallist at the Asian Games in Doha, picked up her medals after snatching 115kg and lifting 150kg in the jerk for a total weight of 265kg. China's Mu Shuangshuang made a clean sweep of three gold medals with 132kg in the snatch, 173kg in the clean and jerk and 305kg in the Olympic total. Alexandra Aborneva of Kazakhstan lifted 105kg for the snatch bronze medal, while the remaining two bronze medals were won by India's Geeta Rani, 137kg in the clean and jerk and 239kg in the Olympic total. In the men's 105kg class of the 38th Asian Men's Championships, which was held simultaneously, Niti Kam-eam yesterday failed in all three attempts in the snatch before lifting 190kg in the jerk, which was not enough to earn him any medal.
