Croatia Airlines switches IT system

Star Alliance member Croatia Airlines has decided to replace its information-technology (IT) system with Star Alliance's next-generation platform for customer-management systems.
Under the guidance of Star Alliance Services, an agreement was recently signed between Croatia Airlines and Amadeus, the IT provider for the platform. "This is very good news for the project itself, our passengers and Croatia Airlines, as this decision marks the further extension of the common IT platform, demonstrating that this solution is suitable for carriers of all sizes within our alliance," said Aman Khan, Star Alliance vice president for IT. Croatia Airlines will start switching to the new IT system this year, creating efficient and cost-effective access to the entire range of Star Alliance products for its clients. The Star Alliance IT platform is a strategic programme focused on customer service, lower IT costs and swift delivery of new products. The project was originally launched in 2005 with Lufthansa and United Airways as the lead carriers. Svemir Radmilo, executive vice president for sales at Croatia Airlines, said the new IT system would improve the quality and competitiveness of services. Additionally, it will allow Croatia Airlines to deliver the Star Alliance product range more efficiently. Croatia Airlines, a full-service airline established in 1989, is the national carrier of the Republic of Croatia, connecting Croatia with most major European cities.
