Highlights of the week :Anti-coup rally

Twelve groups protesting against the coup will gather for a mass rally at Sanam Luang from today until Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Saturday People Against Dictatorship will continue its campaign to remove Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda. The group is trying to gather 100,000 signatures calling for Prem's removal, which it will submit to the Office of His Majesty's Principal Private Secretary.
Reviving PAD Former leaders of the People's Alliance for Democracy will meet tomorrow to discuss reviving the group to monitor the government. The alliance's revival could trigger a new round of political change.
AEC hearing Former finance minister and central bank chief MR Pridiyathorn Devakula is expected to testify on Wednesday at the Assets Examination Committee hearing into the sale of a land plot on Ratchadaphisek Road to Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, the wife of former prime minister Thaksin. As Bank of Thailand governor, Pridiyathorn chaired the board of the Financial Institutions Development Fund, which sold the land to Pojaman at auction for Bt772 million. Following Wednesday's hearing, the subcommittee investigating the matter will conclude its probe and prepare a report. The case could be forwarded to the Attorney General before the end of the month.
