Gateaux House adds outlets

Bakery chain Gateaux House will open new branches and increase its marketing budget in a bid to achieve sales growth of at least 10 per cent this year.
Managing director Parichat Laisathit said it would add at least 10 outlets to its current 40, allowing it to cover its target groups and boost its business opportunities. It has already tied up a deal to open outlets in three Petronas gas stations in Bangkok from next month. Parichat said the outlets' locations were in line with the company's logistics as it wanted to control operating costs in the unfavourable investment climate. Gateaux House also plans to open branches in shopping malls and upcountry this year, including two or three in Chiang Mai. However, despite approaches by several potential franchisees, it will take some time to study the franchise business. Parichat said the company would also look to expand its recently launched catering business, which has high growth potential. It will increase its marketing budget by 20 per cent from last year to serve its aggressive marketing campaign and to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
