Army tame Navy

Nattapat Kaewiset, Chaiyachan Boonsri and Kittiporn Onkraithong spearheaded the Royal Thai Army to a 78-71 victory over the Royal Thai Navy in the Pool B round-robin match of the 47th King's Cup Tournament at Siam University yesterday.
The threesome took turns in adding digits on the scoreboard for the soldiers with their three-pointers after losing two previous matches. Both teams were locked in a see-saw battle to finish the first quarter at 19-18, with the Army having a point advantage. But as the game proceeded, the soldiers gained the upper hand, due to the great compatibility of Nattapat, Chaiyachan and Kittiporn and their solid defence. The soldiers surged ahead at 43-36 after the break and widened the margin to 68-51 by the third quarter. The Navy changed several players in the final quarter but it was too late to save the game.
