High security for premier

Some 1,200 police officers will be deployed when Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont delivers a speech in Ubon Ratchathani on the development of government and democracy this afternoon.
Colonel Prateep Kitjawattana, deputy Ubon Ratchathani police commander, said the police would be on duty in and around Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University, where 4,000 people were expected to attend. Provincial defence chief Thornthan Chinkomut said a room had been reserved for people to file complaints to the government, which would be collected by a deputy governor. Many local groups are expected to do so.
