Thailand finish 6th in Manila

Thailand's women's golf team finished sixth while runaway leaders South Korea took the prestigious Queen Sirikit Cup in the 29th edition, played in the Philippines last weekend.
The Thais found the strong winds and super slick greens at The Country Club in Laguna, near Manila, very difficult. The Koreans, however, had absolutely no problem in adapting and won for the tenth time. They were the only team to finish in red figures with a remarkable 18-under par 414. The margin of their victory over second-placed hosts, the Philippines, was a whopping 20 shots. Japan, who have won six times, were third a shot behind the Filipinos at three over. So-Yeon Ryu was a cut above the rest in the individual category with an outstanding 12-under par 204 while her Korean team-mate He-Yong Choi came second on six-under. Lee and Dottie Ardina (Philippines) shared joint third place on even par.
