Hundreds of Buddhists gather in Songkhla to demand more safety

Hundreds of Buddhists gathered at Sabayoi district office in Songkhla province on Monday, demanding the security authorities to provide more safety for them.
The villagers that came from nine Tambons in the province started gathering at the office at about 2.30pm. As of 4.20pm, their number is estimated to be more than 1,500. The gathering was believed to conduct out of anger as the recent attack at a school in the district killed two students and wound eight others. They demanded that the authorities maintained their forces in the area to protect their safety. They said the authorities should not listen to demands from Thai Muslims who demanded that the forces withdrew from the area.
