Noble women want Thaksin lynched

The government and its military backers should stop beating about the bush and punish ousted prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra, a group of women with noble backgrounds demanded yesterday.
"Under the circumstances, the government is obliged to uncover evidence of wrongdoing committed by Thaksin," group leader MR Rampi-arpa Kasemsri said.Delays in prosecuting Thaksin will provide him with ammunition to claim innocence in the eyes of the foreign news media, she said. She graded the junta and its government a C-plus for its performance in meeting the public's expectations. Prapai Prasarttong-Osoth is disappointed the authorities appear slow in dispensing justice. "Thaksin continues to give interviews to foreign news media demonstrating his unpatriotic and anti-royalist views and the government has yet to try him," she said. Council for National Security chairman General Sonthi Boonyaratglin trumpets his sweeping powers to right past wrongs and it is now time for him to rein in the ousted premier, Benjawan Krachangnetr said. She said her group might take to the streets if the government is unable to take action against Thaksin within three months.
