IN BRIEF
'Positive' talks with Malaysia's Tenaga

Malaysian power producer Tenaga Nasional expects earnings from electricity exports to Thailand to double to 1 billion ringgit (Bt10.1 billion) if current negotiations bear fruit, reports the Bernama News Agency.
Tenaga, which now receives 500 million ringgit for 300 megawatts of power supplied to Thailand, is negotiating with the Thai authorities to export an additional 300MW. Tenaga CEO Che Khalib Mohamad Noh said there was a positive atmosphere in the talks.
Hold back the years Local beauty centre Nida Skin and Cosmetic Surgery has spent Bt10 million to bring a French procedure to Thailand for skin rejuvenation and delaying the ageing process. Nida's owner Dr Sunida Yuthayothin, a specialist in cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery, said the procedure came from La Clinique de Paris. It will be offered to wealthy customers. Clients in Thailand will receive treatments tailored to their needs. They will have to give blood and urine samples for molecular biodiagnosis in France, in order to determine the individual nature of their treatment, which will cost between Bt50,000 and Bt200,000. Sunida said cosmetic surgery in Thailand grew 90 per cent in 2005, but that growth rate slowed to 20-30 per cent last year. It is expected to show flat growth this year, because of the country's sluggish economy. Nida recorded revenues of Bt60 million, or 25-per-cent growth, last year.
Crusaders arrive One of the world's most popular multiplayer online role-playing games, "World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade", is now available in Thailand. Its US-based creator, Blizzard Entertainment, said the subscription-based game, which has been played by more than 8 million gamers around the world, would soon move to China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. "The Burning Crusade is the single-largest expansion we've ever created, and we're grateful for the support shown by beta testers and the millions of World of Warcraft players around the world during its development," said Mike Morhaime, president and co-founder. "We're excited about sharing all of the new content with players, and we're certain they'll enjoy the quality and breadth of new experiences that The Burning Crusade offers." "World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade" is available at a suggested retail price of US$39.99 (Bt1,418).
