Chavalit meets Prem to clear the air

Former prime minister Chavalit Yongchaiyud met Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda Thursday morning reportedly to clear the air after he was linked to fatal bombings in the New Year's Eve.
Speculations also pointed that topic of discussion could include cabinet reshuffle.
Chavalit and his aide, Lt Gen Chawensak Pongsaluay, arrived in Bonze Mercedes Benz at Prem's residence at 9:15 am.
Chavalit was received by Lt Gen Phrajul Tamprateep, chief of the Prem Tinsuland Foundation office.
Political observers said Chavalit might come to discuss with Prem about a possible Cabinet reshuffle.
It has been speculated that about three to four ministers would be added to the Cabinet.
Chavalit's aide, Gen Wichit Yathip, former deputy army chief, was speculated to be appointed a deputy transport minister in an attempt to pacify Chavalit.
Earlier, Chavalit came out tocriticise the government and the CNS on several occasions.
His attacks prompted him to come under suspicion that he might somehow involved with the eight bombings on New Year's Eve.
Political observers believe Chavalit might also explain to Prem that he had nothing to do with the bomb attacks.
