Still no leads

The hunt for the New Year's Eve bombers has so far come up with scant clues, police said yesterday.

Although many fingerprints were found on the public phone booths arrayed near one of the eight bomb sites - Gaysorn - more processing is needed to verify them, said Lt-General Ek Angsananond, director of the Forensic Science Bureau.

At the seven other sites, no incriminating evidence was found except traces of the explosives, he said.

However, the closed-circuit surveillance system at Seacon Square Shopping Centre has shown the clearest picture of a suspect. A man was caught on TV acting suspiciously in the parking lot before the device was found.
