IN BRIEF
Housing :Oil prices and location to boost condominium demand

Condominium demand is set to expand further next year, particularly for units priced up to Bt2 million, a condo manager said yesterday.

Thanakorn Thongcharoen, manager of the Green Nine Condominium on Rama IX Road, said high oil prices would be the main factor to drive demand. Location was also important.

Although several large developers have entered the condo market, fear of an impending supply overhang is unrealistic since all developers are experienced, he said.

Customs :Electronic system launched

The Customs Department will next year introduce an e-customs system, director-general Satit Limpongpan said yesterday.

Customs clearance and other services will be completed electronically and without paper, which would internationalise the department's procedures.

The system would ensure faster service and greater transparency.

Exporters, importers and freight forwarders are invited to enrol in the electronic system.
