Wonder of wooden toys

WonderWorld Products, a producer and distributor of wooden toys, plans to expand its local market share from 2 per cent to 10 per cent next year, the company's managing director said last week.
Suthichai Aemcharonying said that at present 98 per cent of sales came from exports, adding that the company had to change its business strategy to focus more on the domestic market as the baht had gained nearly 14 per cent against the US dollar this year. "A strong baht has a negative impact on our business because we cannot increase prices on exports, so we have to adjust our marketing focus to increase our domestic market share," he said. The company exports to 40 countries, including the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. As part of its new strategy, the company plans to spend Bt10 million on promoting its products to local consumers. The company also plans to introduce a number of new products next year. These include Wonder Game, which will relate to football and golf, Wonder Education, which will supplement children's education, and Wonderland, which will focus on expanding youngsters' imagination.
