Thailand Elite Card :Government urged to continue TPC operation

Soonthree Chanprasit, president of Aktive, the largest sales representative of the Thailand Elite card, operated by Thailand Privilege Card (TPC), has urged the government to continue TPC's operation.
Soonthree said that if the government halted TPC, this would directly affect the investment of Bt6.3 billion by TPC's members. Moreover, she said 121 new applicants were worried about rumours of closing TPC while waiting for the new government to confirm further operation before paying membership fees of Bt1 million each. Suparerk Chomchan, managing director of Elite International (Europe), also called upon the government to restore foreign members' confidence, in order to attract more Western members.
Tourism :New Conrad Koh Samui Resort Hilton Hotels Corporation and Hillcrest Development (Samui) have signed a management agreement for the Conrad Koh Samui Resort and Spa in Thailand Koos Klein, president of Hilton Hotels Middle East and Asia Pacific, said the 79 villas and 39 Conrad Residential villas, would be located on a secluded hill overlooking Aow Thai Beach at the southwest tip of the island. Spread over 25 acres, the Conrad Koh Samui Resort and Spa will offer panoramic views of the Gulf of Thailand, outlying islands and the surrounding landscape of lush coconut plantations. Scheduled to open in late 2008, the Conrad Koh Samui Resort and Spa will be the newest luxury villa property on the popular island.
